NEW DELHI: After Actor Shahrukh Khan it is the perfectionist Aamir Khan, who during speaking at the Ramnath Goenka excellence in journalism awards on Monday.

Aamir apparently became a part of the debate on a perceived “rise in intolerance”, said that the increase in the number of incidents in past like a mob killing over beef-eating rumours and controversial statements by members of the ruling BJP or allied groups and attacks on rationalists has made the topic of intolerance as a heated issue in the nation and is really ‘alarming’.
while recently during a tour to Britain Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on being faced with the question in intolerance addressed the same by saying “India is committed to protecting every citizen’s freedom, and the law will deal severely with those who are intolerant.”

Presenting a personal conversation with his wife Kiran Rao, “When I chat with Kiran at home, she says, ‘should we move out of India?’ she fears for future of her child, she worries what the atmosphere would be like. she fears opening up the newspapers in the morning which he says is not only “alarming” but is creating a sense of despondency and also a leading to growing disquiet.

The ruling BJP calls the comments “alarmist” and unfair.

The actor’s Statement is facing a strong rebuke from the Bollywood industry, first one to come forward to question the Aamir khan is the veteran actor Anupan Kher, who instantly posted number of tweets:

While Delhi’s CM Arvin Kejriwal stood in actors support, there are many politicians and citizens who are on a backlash to his comments, looks like this war on intolerance is not going to stop any time soon.
