The team includes many seaming bowlers with the likes of K Abbott and K Rabada, who has turned out to be a bowling sensation and impressed lots of Cricket legends. The squad does not lists M Morkel, which is bit surprising. He has not been a part of the side in the shortest format of the game from quite a time now. The team also got two specialist spinners with the likes of I Tahir and A Phangiso.

They have got two wicket-keeper options with AB De Villiers and Q De Cock in the team. This is going to be the 6th edition of ICC World T20 and South Africa have never managed to win ever. However, they have reached to the Semi-Final stage couple of times.

In the last edition in 2014 in Bangladesh, they played really well in the Group stage, displayed great temperament and pulled off a stunning victory against New Zealand by defending just 7 runs from last over but lost to India in the semi-final which was very disheartening for the side.
