Ilicali was born on 29th May 1969 in Edirne, Turkey. He founded the company Acun Medya, and is currently the Vice President. Besides this, he is also the owner of Turkish tv channel TV8, which he acquired in 2013. It broadcasts the Turkish versions of reality television shows like The Voice, Survivor, Deal or No Deal, and Dancing With the Stars.
Acun is a college drop out of Istanbul University. He dropped out to start working at an early age. At first, he started working by founding a small clothing shop named Bagdat Caddesi. Eventually, it went bankrupt. Then, he got into the television business and started working as a sports reporter on Show TV.
In 2004, Acun founded his production company which went on to become the most successful in his country, Turkey. In 2013, he expanded his business by acquiring TV8. He also started his own show for which he traveled across the globe. Moreover, he and Turkish comedian Ata Demirer have acted on the comedy series Avrupa Yakasi.
