The third season of Castlevania ended on a cliffhanger that demands new episodes to be released soon. So, it didn’t come as a surprise when Netflix announced its renewal. The writer Ellis and Netflix both shared the news tweeting via their official Twitter handles. (check: Workin’ Moms Season 5.)

Castlevania Season 4 Release Date: When will it premiere on Netflix?

The fans should understand that Castlevania consists of intricate and detailed animation. So, bringing new seasons will take a considerable time. As a result, the wait or the time gap between the two seasons is going to be longer than standard Netflix original shows.

Netflix took 15 months to release the second installment after the first one. Then, there was a gap of 16 months between the 2nd and third seasons. If the production studio takes a similar time and follows the same pattern, then you can expect season 4 to release in the second half of 2021.

There is another reason why it could be delayed further, though the show has been renewed. It’s that the executive producer Adi Shankar has been busy with a TV adaptation of the Devil May Cry video game. So, it could delay Castlevania’s new season further.

Castlevania Season 4 cast: Who will be returning and who is leaving?

Most of the magicians and vampires will still be featured doing what they do. However, there are some characters from season 3 who will stay dead. The list includes The Judge (Jason Isaacs), Taka (Toru Uchikado), and Sumi (Rila Fukushima).

The sure-shot cast to return is as follows:

  • Richard Armitage as Trevor Belmont
  • James Callis as Adrian “Alucard” Tepes
  • Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha Belnades
  • Theo James as Hector
  • Adetokumboh M’Cormack as Isaac
  • Jaime Murray as Carmilla
  • Jessica Brown Findlay as Lenore
  • Yasmine Al Massri as Morana
  • Ivana Milicevic as Striga
  • Bill Nighy as Saint Germain

It is also plausible that we may get to see the mother and father of Alucard together as their glimpse was seen in hell through the Infinite Corridor. If it is going to happen, then we will get to see them playing their roles Vlad Dracula Tepes and Lisa Tepes, respectively.

When we have come to the Infinite Corridor, it should also be noted that we also got to catch a glimpse of Saint Germain. He appears as one of the X-Men characters on his travels. If it is so, will we be seeing this Marvel crossover? If so, what does this mean for the show?

Castlevania season 4 plot: What will happen next?

We have seen four parallel storylines in the third installment. We can take a hint of what’s going to happen next. It seems that the betrayal of Alucard at the hands of Taka and Sumi will be featured. As a result, Dracula’s son will become colder to humans in the future. He may embrace his vampiric heritage and all the darkness with it.

If Hector gets enslaved, it would mean that plan of Carmilla to take over Wallachia will have one less hurdle. It can be predicted that she will invade with the help of her new army and take the center stage in the upcoming episodes. It will make her stand directly against other Forge Master, Issac. We saw his power growing exponentially in the last segment.

Even after defeating the Dracula-worshipping cult in Lindenfeld, the future of Trevor and Sypha seems uncertain. It won’t be surprising to see the Infinite Corridor getting opened in the future which they had closed for good. If it happens, we would see St Germain and Dracula with the mother of Alucard in hand returning back again.

Castlevania season 4 trailer: Is there any promo?

No, there has been no official promotional video for the upcoming installment. You shouldn’t expect it until 2021 at the earliest. Until then, you can always watch the first three seasons of Castlevania online on Netflix.

Stay tuned for more news on Castlevania season 3 and more.
