DUBLIN: Through social media, we keep on seeing a variety of protests all over.one such eccentric protest is being witnessed by Prime minister Enda Kenny, where Irish women are tweeting him details of their menstrual cycle. This protest is done against the abortion laws which have been forever restrictive. The protest is not only limited to social media but taken a very obnoxious form; women are actually sending him letters written in blood and plastic fetuses as a form of campaign.

“Since we know how much the Irish state cares about our reproductive parts, I think it’s only fair that the women of Ireland let our leader @EndaKenndyTD know the full details of our menstrual cycle”, comedian Grainne Maguire said in a tweet this week to kick off a campaign that has gone viral.
Abortion has been a very sensitive topic throughout the world though after a lot of rebels and street protests in the society. There was a marginal transformation made to this austere law in the year 2013, which permitted women to undergo termination only in cases where mother’s life was in danger. A practicing catholic by belief talks about this limited reform as the best step taken and left any further transformation and reforms are left open to the next government.
Ireland has been a socially conservative society and has a high number of restrained catholic believers.
Such a demand is being made after the country saw a shift towards accepting the new ideology when this year after popular poles Ireland became the first country to have legalized the gay marriage.
Whereas, the opposing party has started making promises that campaign in the next elections would be made next year permit terminations in exceptional cases like incest, rapes and any fetal abnormality.
