Today is now the second day of release and the movie is gaining appreciations from the four major metro cities of the country. As per the tweet of Bollywood business and trade analyst, the Friday collection stands at Rs. 10.26 crore. It is expected to show some hike for the Saturday and may collect around Rs. 15-20 crore.
The movie is based upon the story of The Sanitary Man of Sacred Land of Twinkle Khanna’s book named The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad. And She was inspired by Arunachalam Muruganantham who is a social activist of Tamil Nadu.

He is the real man behind the making of low-cost sanitary pads with his own made cheap material machine. The film was hugely promoted but still for the Sanjay Bhansali’s Padmaavat rescheduled the release date. Earlier it was scheduled to be released on Republic Day.
The three films including Padmaavat, Padman, and Aiyaary were clashing on the same day. But Akshay Kumar starrer and Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary delayed their release date and the competition was over.
On the request of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Akshay Kumar agreed to change the release date of the social drama as Padmaavat already stuck between the controversies. However, now everything is fine and all of the production doing well on the screens.
Along with creating awareness in the rural areas of the country, in turn, the production got good promotions. It all started with distribution of sanitary napkins to school girls and then the arrangement of a special screening of I&B minister Smriti Irani for the initiation of #PadManChallenge.
In addition to this, Khiladi Kumar asked the fellow actors of the industry to post pictures with a sanitary pad. The opening day of the film got a good audience and nice words of mouth from the critics. Now, there is one problem of plagiarism just came in front.
Ripu Daman Jaiswal has taken the makers to court for taking scenes of his script. The writer of the script already filed an FIR against the lead actor and he tells that he had sent a copy of the script to Dharma Productions of Karan Johar.
