The Handmaid’s Tale is a well-known web series that streams on Hulu. It was adapted from the novel by Margaret Atwood published in the year 1985.

The show follows the female protagonist, June Osborne (played by Elisabeth Moss) along with her fellow handmaids on their expedition to free themselves. The Handmaids are the few fertile women left on earth. This collapsed infertility around the world has led the ruling government of Gilead to enslave women to procure more power by birthing an heir through the handmaids.

Strictly after season three’s completion, the fourth season was announced, and the viewers were highly anticipated since the season 3 finale was left on a cliffhanger. The finale ends with June being shot and left behind meanwhile the fellow handmaidens escape. Moreover, the children succeed in escaping to Canada as well. Meanwhile, Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) was arrested.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Plot

Some theories have been doing the rounds; for instance, the viewers are contemplating if June is going to die since she was shot by one of the Gilead’s guards. However, these theories are just that- theories. To put them to rest Bruce Miller told Vanity Fair that the show would end if June dies. Therefore, neither June dies, nor the show ends.

Fans are also questioning if June will head back to Gilead, which might be true since she does not have any other option. On the contrary, Moss said, “I’m not sure how she goes back to Gilead after this”. The story-line regarding this is genuinely unknown, but it’s June we’re talking about- she’ll find a way.
