JAYA announces 500 crores relief for the flood-hit areas of Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu has been hit by the worst monsoon fury which has caused floods. It has  affected the normal functioning of the state.

On Monday, the state chief minister J. Jayalalithaa announced an allocation of 500 crores for the relief. This would help in the rehabilitation of the people who have been displaced.

“I have allocated Rs 500 crore towards relief and rehabilitation with immediate effect”,JAYA announced.

She told that the army has been brought into the action for the rescue and search operations at the Tambaram.

She further added that money would not only be used for rescue but for the allocation of the people who have been affected.

• In total, a troll of 71 deaths has been registered in various rain affected areas including electrocution and drowning.

• A compensation of 2.5 lakhs to 4 lakhs was announced for the injured and dead including the cattle and poultry deaths.
• With the destruction, the CM directed the state officials to fasten the relief and rehabilitation thus forcing to announce 500 crores aid.
• Of all Cuddalore was the worst affected.
• Out of 683 rural affected areas power supplies have been restored in 671.
• 40 medical camps are fully functioning.
• 70 relief camps have been provided with 58000 food packets.
• Fodder for animals in 121 camps is being given for free.
• In Chennai, water has been removed out of 207 out of 587 areas. The Corporation of Chennai workers has been clearing waterlogged areas.
• Vehicular movements have been restored for most of the subways except for 6. The debris is being removed as the drains are malfunctioning.

JAYA announces 500 crores for relief

The government has been carrying out relief to its best and trying to help the individuals who have faced the fury of nature. these operations are being carried at a very fast rate especially in Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram areas, CM said.
As  Kancheepuram district was severely affected, a 160-member NDRF team in total, 3 from the State’s Disaster Response Force, have been assisting in the district administration.
