Not only in India, but it is also an international festival, all Muslims across the globe celebrate this month with full devotion. Other nations include the United States, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Singapore, and many more. (see: when is ramadan.)
The festival doesn’t have a specific date, people watch the crescent of Moon for confirmation which is different for all nations. The fasting has to be done by every Muslims for 30 days except the ill members of the family, children, menstruating and pregnant women. (share: Ramadan Mubarak Quotes.)
However, the best part is that this holy month ends with Eid-ul-Fitr to break the fast and celebrate Eid with full enthusiasm. In between days, people fast for the whole day, pray to God (Allah). The white light of the moon will tell the time to eat the meal or simply dinner.
This festival started 1400 years back, Prophet Muhammad, Allah’s messenger, fasted for the whole month and did breakfast of just dates and water. The same ritual is still done by pure Muslim communities.
Each year, during the holy month, the food stalls and restaurant shines bright with lots of decoration and delicious foods. But this year, it’s hard for all of these because of the coronavirus pandemic.
