Sword Art Online Season 4 Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Characters, Spoilers, Plot, Episodes, Anime News & Updates
Sword Art Online is one of the most beloved series from the anime universe. This series is also one of the reasons that led to the Isekai genre’s fame. After successfully delivering three seasons, the show is set to return with season four.
It has left us with various questions like when will it release, what will the plot be, and much more. Let’s get into the details and find out everything we know so far.
In the Japanese version, we are hoping to see the same voice cast return like Yoshitugu Matsouka as Kirito, Haruka Tomatsu as Asuna, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Eugeo and Ai Kayano as Alice Schuberg.
In the English version, we may see Bryce Papenbrook as Kirito, Cherami Leigh as Asuna and Brandon Winckler as Eugeo. It is unclear if there will be any additions. We will update you as soon as any announcement is made.
The fourth installment in the series may follow the “Unital Ring” arc which is going to be set in the year 2026. Here Kirito will wake up from his coma and realize that finally, he has entered the real world. It will follow him on his journey to recover from everything that he has been through in the past few years.
It will be interesting to see how his life gets affected by the actions he took in the Underworld. (check: ABC’s The Good Doctor Season 4 Release Date, Cast, Plot, Episodes and Everything So Far About Series.)
Kawahara also tweeted saying that the title of the Unital Ring is referred to as a mathematical term that is similar to the Ordinal Scale. It may or may not be directly related to the plot of the fourth season.

Since the production of the series has not yet begun, the trailer for the show has not come out again. Chances are we may see a glimpse by 2022 at the earliest. However, you can watch the trailer for season three below.
SAO is available to stream on Crunchyroll. It has a total of three seasons, and the runtime is around 24 minutes. SwordArt Online: Alicization – War of Underworld is available on Crunchyroll, HiDive, VRV, Hulu, and AnimeLab.
So far, the creators of the show have not announced a release date. The writer of the show, Reki Kawahara, is working on the story. Since the work for the content is still ongoing, it will take some time for it to be completed.
Considering that it will take at least two years for him to complete ten volumes that will make enough content to create one season, the show may not come in 2020. The show may not be out until 2023. However, this is not confirmed yet. We will have to wait for an official announcement on the same.
As much as it is difficult to wait for this show, fortunately, we have ‘Sword ArtOnline: Alicization – War of Underworld’ Part 2 which released on July 11, 2020. It will somehow fill our time for a few days.
