Perry Mason Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Episodes, Spoilers, HBO News & Series Updates
The on-going period drama Perry Mason is ready to telecast it’s last two episodes in August. As the season comes to an end, HBO announced a brand new season recently on Twitter. It came as a surprise in the beginning because the first season is currently being aired.
Everyone was ecstatic when Francesca Orsi (HBO’s Programming Executive VP) disclosed the reason behind it. She said, “It has been an exciting journey to work with the immensely talented team behind Perry Mason.
Viewers have relished being transported back in time to 1930s Los Angeles each week, and we are thrilled to welcome the show back for a second season.” We have quite some details on the series’ newest installment, and we cannot wait to share it further. So, let’s look into the details.
The season 2 confirmation came only a few days ago without any other details. Therefore, there isn’t a specific date of release. Simultaneously, as of July 2020, season one hasn’t officially ended and is yet to air its eighth and final episode on August 9, 2020. Until and unless the makers wrap up the current season, it might be a little challenging to work on the next.
Besides, season one launched on June 21, 2020. Accordingly, season two may also have a similar appearance (hopefully).
Unlike the previous versions of Perry Mason, the current lead character is a low-rent private investigator who still deals with his traumas from World War I while simultaneously facing a divorce when he is called upon to solve a case.
The series is inspired by the detective stories of Perry Mason by Erle Stanley Gardner. Furthermore, the series had more independent versions throughout the years, but they were different in their way. For example, the first PerryMason book came in 1933, and the character was adapted into movies, series, and radio. Nevertheless, the best Mason to date is said to be the one played by Raymond Burr in the 1957 to 1966 CBS series.
Matthew Phys play the future renowned defense lawyer and present private investigator, Perry Mason. Then we have John Lithgow as Elias Birchard “EB” Jonathan, a regular employer of Perry and a struggling attorney.
At the same time, Juliet Rylance played Della Street, his loyal and driven legal secretary. Next, Chris Chalk plays Paul Drake, working as a beat cop, whereas Shea Wigham plays Mason’s work partner- Pete Strickland. And lastly, Tatiana Maslany as Sister Alice McKeegan, a preacher and leader of the Radiant Assembly of God.
Moreover, we have a recurring cast of:

Since the makers are still working on the same season, there is no trailer as of now. Also, the renewal was freshly announced. Hence, filming and production will take some time to process because of COVID-19. It isn’t likely to happen until the majority of the population is safe.
Till then, take care of yourself, and we’ll keep updating you.
