Isekai genre is growing and BOFURI: I Don’t Want To Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense is another addition. It initially came out in January 2020 and stood out because of a strong female lead. It is based on a light novel series of the same name written by Yuumikan and illustrated by Koin.


The show was highly praised for its detailing and colors, along with the fact that it brought comedy and slice of life-like themes instead of just action. Fortunately, the show was renewed for another season pretty quickly. Now that the show has been renewed let’s get into the details and find out everything that has happened.

When will Bofuri season 2 release? Premiere Date

Initially, the show was expected to be released in Fall 2020. However, as of now, no announcement on the release date has been made. Usually, the animation studios are booked in advance for the production. Studio Silver Link produced the first installment and is currently working on other anime series.

They are scheduled to deliver Non-Non Biyori season 3 as of now. However, nothing has been specified yet on the production of the third installment. Since there has been no announcement of the release schedule, we may not see season two in Fall. It may come out in 2021. However, we will have to wait for news on the same.

Who is in the cast of Bofuri season 2?

In the Japanese version we saw Kaede Hondo as Maple, Ruriko Noguchi as Risa Shiramine, Saori Hayami as Kasumi, Ai Kakuma as May, Satomi Sato as Iz, Nanaka Suwa as Yui, Noriaki Sugiyama as Kuromu and Satomi Arai as Kanade.

In the English version, we saw Megan Shipman as Maple Tree, Jad Saxton as Risa Shiramine, Tia Ballard as Kasumi, Brittney Karbowski as Kanade, Anthony Bowling as Kuromu, Caitlin Glass as Iz, Sara Ragsdale as May and Kristen Mcguire as Yui.

So far, the official cast list has not been mentioned. However, we are hoping to see most of the cast returns for the second installment. It remains unclear if there will be any new characters joining the show.

What will happen in Bofuri season 2? Plot

The first season ended with Maple and Sally defeating two major guilds, which helped them gain a lot of respect. The next installment will pick up the storyline from the fifth volume of the light novel series. Since the girls defeated the guilds, Maple will get an opportunity to go on an adventure with guild masters.

As they embark on to the sixth level, they will realize that this level has dangerous demons lurking around, and it isn’t something they expected. As they try to move ahead, the admin of the game will try to cause more troubles.

However, things will change once they reach level seven. Here Maple will realize that she has to upgrade her abilities to survive and move ahead. The light novel series has nine volumes as of now. The anime has a lot of material to pick up from. However, we will have to wait and see what the second season will bring for us.
