Australia Pulls Out of Under-19 World Cup 2016 Due to Security Threat: Cricket AUS said that its team will not participate in the upcoming ICC Under 19 WC 2016 due to security concerns. The multi-nation event will be played in Bangladesh.
CA also informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) about the same.

Australian team has sent an inspection team to Bangladesh and monitored the situation in the host nation and the verdict turned that conditions are not suitable for the young side of the Aussies.
Earlier, in October last year, the tour of Australian senior team was postponed in Bangladesh due to same reasons of security.

Sean Carroll, security head, Cricket Australia visited to Dhaka last week along with ICC security advisors to meet with concerned officials, considered the security plan and seek more advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade representatives from Bangladesh, told by James Sutherland, CEO of Cricket Australia.
The 15 man squad will travel to Dubai this week to play the tri-series against Pakistan and New Zealand.
The ICC U19 wc will start from January 27th. The withdrawal of Australia from the U19 world cup will be a major blow to the tournament and to the host Bangladesh. Australia had been clubbed with India, Nepal, New Zealand in Group D.
James Sutherland said that the security and safety of Australian team and officials is the highest priority for them and they can’t risk it.
“We have not taken the decision lightly and we apologise for the inconvenience caused to the organisers of the tournament, especially ICC and BCB”,
Australia Under 19 team has won the world edition three times. The tournament provides the younger players to learn a lot to play under all sort of circumstances and prepares them for the International arena.
