Delhi celebrates Car-free-day on 22 November: After the festival of lights Diwali, the air pollution level had reached toxic limits. as a step towards greener and pollution free environment, Delhi government has taken a small step by deciding to organize car-Free-Day on the 22nd date of every month.

Delhi owning the most number of running cars in the country is not just dealing with traffic jam issues on daily basis but high level of carbon monoxide emissions leading to increased health issues (breathing and skin problems) and global warming, because of the ultraviolet rays which hit the earth’s surface directly as a result of the hole in the ozone layer. ozone layer works as a shield from the Sun’s harmful radiations- the ultraviolet rays.
As a thought to bring awareness and responsibility towards the environment by taking initiatives for controlling the traffic congestion and air pollution the 2nd car-free-day is to be held on Sunday- 22 November, is being promoted at a mighty level.
The event will see many school, NSS and Ncc students, along with different welfare associations participating in this rally in large numbers.
