Dhanteras 2015 Puja/Pooja Vidhi, Muhurat, Timings, Rituals: Diwali is the festival of 5 days and the first day of Diwali celebration is known as Dhantryodashi. This festival is mainly celebrated in North and West India. The day is also known as “Dhantrayodashi” or “Dhanvantari Trayodashi”. “Dhan” is a Sanskrit word which means wealth whereas the Trayodashi means 13th day according to the Hindu calendar.
On Dhanteras, the business offices or premises are being renovated and decorated with proper decoratives. Rangoli’s are prepared in the entrance area, just to welcome the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity. For the indication of her arrival, small footprints are also used to made with rice flour and some powder. All lights are lamps are on for the whole night.

On this day, the Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped at correct time which provide us the prosperity and good health. The first day of Diwali is a very special day for the business community as this day people used to purchase things made up of precious metal. Lord Kubera is also being worshipped on Dhanteras. Though, the Lakshmi puja on the day of Amavasya after two days from Dhanteras is more significant.
The Dhanteras puja should be started after the commencement of Pradosh Kaal and this time last for the 2 hours and 24 minutes. This festival / day is also noticed to be known as Dhanwantari Triodasi or Dhanvantri Jayanti which simply called as the God of Ayurveda.
