Happy Dhanteras 2016: The festival full of excitements is about to start with its first day of Dhanteras. This weekend is going to be most rememberable as the festival of light falls on Sunday. This year, Dhanteras is on 28th October 2015 i.e., Friday.
The Dhantrayodashi Puja is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Karthik Krishna Paksha in the month of Karthik as per the Hindu calendar. This day is believed to auspicious for buying gold, silver and new thing for the house. On this day, our prayers are being offered to the goddess of wealth Lakshmi and Lord Kuber.
As per the Hindu mythology, during the churning of the sea, on the day of Dhantrayodashi, Goddess Lakshmi came out from the ocean of milk.
However, another belief says that this day is assigned to the 16-year-old son of King Hima. The horoscope revealed that he will be dead after 4 days of his marriage. The prince’s wife made a stack of all of her ornaments and other precious things made of gold at the entrance. When Yamaraj came, gets blinded by the glittering of gold. His wife keeps singing the melodious songs all night. With this his wife saved him.
