Diya Aur Baati Hum 1st January 2016: The episode started with Meenakshi getting tea. She found everyone upset and not taking tea. Everyone left. Meenakshi thought what would have happened to them, their moods are bad even after everything has got well, what was troubling them, she had made such a good tea, she would do something.
Sooraj is at his shop and sat drawing. Sandhya saw him from her balcony. She thought Sooraj was doing something special for her after many days. She smiled. Sooraj was making the card and saw a cloth. He thought how he tied Sandhya at the shop and got sad. He looked at the balcony and remembered her. He wrote an apology in the card. He thought everything would be fine again, he had to say sorry and share his feelings which she will understand.

Meenakshi went to Vikram and showed him a small knife. He asked what was that. She said that was for safety, Sooraj loved Sandhya so much and he had shut her in his shop, he said that he don’t know who would change and scare Vikram. He asked her to keep that, it was done being helpless by Sooraj and Sandhya understood it. She said but the trust has broken, if trust joins again, it has a knot, saw their relation will have a knot too.
Sooraj heard them. Vikram was told by Meenakshi about Sooraj listening. Meenakshi picked up the fallen cards. She asked Sooraj to take the cards. Sooraj replied that he doesn’t need them now. She gave them to Sooraj. Sooraj went to his room with Sandhya questioning him about his coming late, to which he replied he had work.
He went for changing clothes. She thought that when the surprise will be given by him. She asked him where was that thing which he wanted to give her as he was hiding things well these days. He recalled Meenakshi’s words and said there was nothing like that, he was going to sleep. She thought he was looking worried, a lot has been heard by him so a peaceful sleep will do.

Bhabho saw Babasa awaken and asked what has happened. He said nothing. He thought that whole life is spent together by them, she would be afraid that he will not support her, till now he hadn’t given anything, she bear so much in life.
Sandhya was cutting vegetables in the morning. Sooraj told Bhabho that he had a talk with Pramod, his pandit told that the muhurta is after 4 days. Meenakshi got cheerful. Lalima is congratulated by Sandhya. Bhabho said that she will take all the responsibilities.
Meenakshi laughed and asked what had happened to you Babasa. Babasa thought that he would prove to Bhabho that he could take the responsibility and fulfill it. She said my sons and bahus will see you should take rest. He said that he will fulfill the responsibilities. Babasa said that this time no one would do, i will make a list of works. He left. Meenakshi said what had happened to him.
Bhabho chose sarees. Meenakshi got tired after grinding the wheat. She saw Emily and said marriage is not fun without any flavors. Meenakshi made Emily slip and the juice glasses fall. The juice falls over the wheat flour. Meenakshi said it was her mistake. Emily said it was okay, she would make it again.
Meenakshi said sorry and thought of acting in front of Bhabho. She went to Bhabho and asked her to see the flour. Bhabho said that that was because of her carelessness, she spoiled all the flour. Meenakshi said Emily did this. Emily got juice again and heard Meenakshi. Meenakshi expected Bhabho to scold Emily. Emily said that it was fine, a mistake could happen by anyone.
Sandhya looked for clothes. Sooraj came in the room and saw her phone ringing. He bent to take it and recalled how he had heard Satya’s voice message. He stopped. He was asked to get the phone and put it on the speaker by her. She went to him and said call ended. Meenakshi came and looked on.
Sandhya held his hand and asked why he did not answer the call. Sooraj wiped off his tears. Meenakshi recalled Sooraj leaving the card and going. Sandhya got the call again. She said that she would put it on speaker. Sooraj left and does not hear his work call. He saw Meenakshi outside the door and went away. Sandhya thought Sooraj is hiding something.
