Every Harry Potter fan was excited when Fantastic Beasts arrived. Although when Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald came to theatres, it wasn’t exactly a hit. By receiving such reviews, it was uncertain if Warner Bros were going to continue making films in the franchise.
However, it seems like Warner Bros is confident that J.K. Rowling has the perfect vision to make the third installment better than the first two. There have been many speculations about the changes they are planning to make, and a few of them have been confirmed. So, let’s find out what are those changes, and when the movie is set to release.
When will Fantastic Beasts 3, 4 & 5 release? Premiere Date
Originally it looked like the franchise was going to give us two movies back to back. However, a date wasn’t set, but it appeared like the third installment was set to be released in November 2020.
The production of the third installment was pushed back by Warner Bros, which meant that it wasn’t coming in 2020. It has been stated that the movie is now set to be released on November 12, 2021.
The filming started in March 2020 but had to stop due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, according to new guidelines, the UK’s high-end television and film production may start in July 2020. It is unclear if the delay in production will affect the release date or not. So far there have been no indications towards any delay.
Since the third installment would be released in 2021, so there could be a delay in the 4th and 5th installments. We may get to see the latter two parts in 2023 and 2025 respectively. We will only know when Warner Bros make a statement regarding the same. There is still a chance that there may be a wider gap between the third, fourth, and fifth parts.
The chairman of Warner Bros Toby Emmerich mentioned that the shoot had been pushed so that the filmmakers have the time and space to think and be more creative to deliver the best film possible for the fans. It has also been confirmed that Steve Kloves, who wrote the screenplay for seven Harry Potter movies, will also be co-writing the screenplay with J.K. Rowling.
Who will be in Fantastic Beasts 3 cast?
In Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald everybody couldn’t survive. Zoe Kravitz played the role of Leta Lestrange, who was killed by Grindelwald after Newt and others escaped.
However, we may see her back in the form of flashbacks. Apart from her, we are going to see Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Tina Goldstein, and Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski. (check: Babylon Berlin Season 4.)
It is likely we may see Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein and Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone. Johnny Depp has also confirmed that he will be reprising the role of Gellert Grindelwald. Callum Turner is also returning as Theseus Scamander.
David Yates has been signed to direct the next three parts of the film. Harry Potter’s original alumnus, Steve Kloves will co-write with JK Rowling.
What will the plot of Fantastic Beasts 3 be?
In the second installment, we saw Credence and Queenie had taken Grindelwald’s side. Meanwhile, Newt was fighting the dark wizard alongside his brother Theseus. J.K. Rowling had mentioned that the films are set to cover the 19 years of Wizarding World History. The last part of the movie will likely revolve around Dumbledore defeating Grindelwald and claiming Elder Wand from him. These 19 years are set to cover the birth of Voldemort and the creation of Horcruxes.
As per Rowling, it’ll be set in Rio de Janeiro in the 1930s. The franchise’s first two films have grossed more than $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office.
