Father’s Day 2016: Every year the Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. This day is in practice roughly since 100 years ago. First, the idea of celebrating the day dedicated to male parenting in complement to Mother’s Day in the USA.

In the honor of fathers, the day celebrates the fatherhood and their influence in the society. Most of the nations across the world celebrate the day with joy and enthusiasm on third Sunday in the month of June. This year, the day falls on 19th June 2016.
The people of Washington believes that the Sonora Dodd first felt the need of the day which is dedicated to fathers after knowing about the Mother’s Day in 1910. Dodd’s father done everything being a single parent for his kids to become successful in their lives.
Dodd started a campaign to get the recognition for the day with local YMCA and the Ministerial Association of Spokane in the city which is the birthplace of her. For the first time, the Father’s Day was celebrated in the city of Spokane in 1910.
Other beliefs suggest that the Grace Golden Clayton made the efforts to create the concept of Father’s Day in 1908 in Fairmont, West Virginia.
Now, the day is known for honoring dads. Earlier, the presidents of the American states supported the day unofficially and after 1966, it was on the official calendar after the efforts of President Lyndon Johnson.
Celebrations are inclusive of a small family gathering followed by the dinner or a small family event. Some children, even present gifts and cards to their father’s deciphering their love for them.
Now to add some serious fun to the day, some people rolled on Twitter with the hashtag #PutYourDadInABand to honor “Father’s Day”. The aim was to “Father’s Day” as cannonade of inspiration to change the band’s name.
