The IIM Rohtak successfully hosted its flagship event Management Summit on July 21, 2018, in the new campus. As per the reports, the event has a theme: “Human Resources Management: The Next Frontier”.
The institution hosted the nation’s top corporate executives for discussing the challenges of human resource management in the world which is driven by technology. It all started with the voice of director of IIM Rohtak, Prof. Dheeraj Sharma telling the issue of how the millennials pose unique challenges to Human Resource Management.

As per the press release, eleven large corporations were there with their representatives for the top management talks regarding the challenges. The list of the eleven leaders is as follow.

Due to change in social environment, dealing with the new generation is a challenge as said by the director of the institution. He also added that the meetings and discussion should not be limited to the corporate world. They should be done on a wider perspective which will take the informal sector as well as the industrial workforce into consideration.
Ms Rashmi Mansharamani, Corporate Head (HR), The Wave Group, mentioned the challenges faced by taking everyone to focus on a single goal. She also shared her real-life experiences. She added that the joint forces of the senior managers and the strategies of young employees helped a lot in solving this problem.
On describing the requirements of industry, she said, “Four competencies that are a must for any position irrespective of age or gender is data proficiency, digital mindset, adjustability and learning ability.”
The experience of working with multiple generations is also shared by Mr Diwakar Puri, Head HR, Hero MotoCorp said, “People can’t be put in buckets according to only the generations they are born in since people of the youngest generation might as well possess old-fashioned mindsets, and vice- versa.”
He also pointed out that while filtering the jobs, the youngsters are not much concerned about the compensation. He also added, “As an organization, the methodology of customizing the work environment for employees to make them more comfortable has been followed.”
