The biggest challenge for the selectors was to select one player out of Manish Pandey and Ajinkya Rahane, and the priority has been given to Rahane, keeping his experience as a priority.
Fast bowlers with the likes of Umesh Yadav and B Kumar have been left out and Irfan Pathan and Amit Mishra are also not included despite of the good performances in domestic matches.
Apparently, 9 out of the 15 players selected were a part of the side that participated in the ICC World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand.
23-year-old Negi has performed brilliantly at the domestic circuit from a very long time and his ticket to the Asia Cup team and World T20 team is a reward to that.
