Who is Jordan Peterson?
Jordan Peterson is a Canadian clinical psychologist and author. He gained the audience’s attention mainly due to his conservative views on cultural and political views. He has written a few books including Maps of Meaning, 12 Rules for Life & Beyond Order. His book 12 Rules for Life sold over five million copies worldwide.
From 1993 to 1998, Jordan taught at Harvard University. He was hired as an assistant professor in the psychology department. While he was at Harvard he studied the aggression arriving from drug and alcohol abuse. He is also a known youtube personality where he has 5 million subscribers. He uploads videos on several different topics.

New York Post made a tweet announcing Yumi Nu as the SI Swimsuit cover model. Jordan responded to the tweet saying, “Sorry. Not beautiful. And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that.”
Post this tweet, netizens on Twitter felt that this tweet was unacceptable. One user tweeted, “It’s obvious you have never been to an art museum in Europe. Some of the most memorable paintings, I’ve ever seen in my lifetime, were of women that looked just like this. Just because you don’t have any taste for a curvaceous woman doesn’t mean others don’t”
While some disagreed with Jordan, there were some who agreed with him saying she should control her weight considering that she is a swimsuit model.
This is not the first time that Jordan has come in trouble for his views. It has been seen several times in the past that he has some old-fashioned views on women.
Why did Jordan Peterson quit Twitter?
However, it remains unclear if he is quitting Twitter due to the outrage on his tweet. He mentioned that he had quit Twitter for three weeks and instantly saw improvements in his life. He joined Twitter again a few days back and he feels that his life has worsened again. He mentioned in the tweet that he has asked his staff to change his password and keep him away from temptation. He will write an article or make a video if it’s extremely important to be addressed, if not he will let it pass.
It is unclear whether Jordan will return to Twitter anytime soon or not. After receiving such backlash on his tweet, it will be interesting to see if he has something to say on the same.
