Maggi Is Back In India: Nestle India Begins Maggi Noodles Market Rollout

Nestle Maggi Back In India: India’s second most famous “mom-made food”, everybody’s favorite, Noodles are back. Nestle India announced that its 2-minute instant noodle’s, from the Brand Maggi, would recapitulate its sales from Monday ie: 9 November 2015.

Maggi as a noodle brand has existed in India even before the independence, is actually the face of “noodle’s in India”, so much so that it has been a part of every person’s childhood, special moments, saviour to those who do not know cooking, for all means it has been the national fast food that even mothers never stopped their kids from having. maggie had been upgrading its products bringing in a variety of flavors, which were too accepted by one and all.

Maggi Back In India

After months of the ban by the governments over the noodles for being unsafe with the level of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG-a form of lead) the company will be appearing with its popular and classic masala version from today.

“It is not just coming back with a much-awaited bang but collaborating with Snapdeal an e-tailer site for its resurrection. For the 8 states which have not lifted the ban on the product as yet, Maggi would not be sold there.

A tweet by Nestle India CMD-Suresh Narayan read, “delighted to hand over Maggi noodles to whom it belongs”.

Swiss giant Nestle started production of Maggi  three of its plants in India after the snack was given a clearance by labs appointed by Bombay High Court.

On October 16, Nestle released a statement that “all samples of Maggi (old batches) have cleared testing by three laboratories as mandated by the High Court”.

Nestle India had said.”We have received test results from all three laboratories mandated by the Bombay High Court to test Maggi Noodles samples. All the 90 samples, covering six variants, tested by these laboratories are clear with the lead much below the permissible limits,” Nestle India had said.

Nestle underwent a crisis with a loss of over 450 crores; which included destroying of over 30.000 tonnes of its instant noodles, since June, whereas it faced a Nationwide ban on its Noodles in may this year. when the product failed to pass through the food safety standards by the food safety and standards authority of India (FSSAI). the test results of the same found that Maggi contained a steep amount of lead which was called ‘unsafe and hazardous’ for the health of people. hence, it had to recall all its products back for its extirpate.

The company released a statement saying it would bring no change its ingredients, hence would continue with the existing formula.
