Earlier, the film was scheduled to release along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, but Akshay Kumar cleared the way. Many people are saying that the movie has lost the buzz due to this. But the audiences have eagerly waited for it.

In the movie, the lead actor also raised a matter which is still considered as ‘taboo’ is most of the regions of our country. Bollywood and trade analyst Girish Johar says, “The box office collection of TEPK (Rs 134.22 crore) stands proof to the fact that if content is carried out with a smart and subtle narrative, the masses are not only able to connect with it but they also give out positive reviews. And as far as PadMan is concerned, its trailer has appealed to the audience and they are looking forward to watching the movie.”
He also added that the director of the movie, R Balki is the one who knows how to deal with social issues like the one raised in the flick. This director along with Akshay Kumar will definitely burn the box office with the earnings.
Now, lets come to the first day business of the flick. Johar also shared his thoughts regarding this that it will be able to make Rs 13+ crore. While the opening weekend will easily able to touch the Rs. 50 crore mark.
If we talk about the number of screens, the movie has been released on more than 2000 theatres and cinemas which sounds much dominating in the domestic market. But we must consider the tough competition of this with Padmaavat.
It is practical that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film will be giving competition to this social issue based movie. The audience who have not watched the Padmaavat due to the controversies will now try to watch that.
One possibility is that the most of the audiences have already watched the Shahid Kapoor starrer movie. And now they all want is fresh content from a big star of the Bollywood industry. Today, no other competitive movie has released.
Most of the time, the Indian audiences love the realistic content or a biopic movie. The Akshay Kumar has done the promotions well and already gathered a good amount of the audience to head towards the theatres and watch his film.
