Pakistan Team Squad For World T20 2016 Announced: The Cricket Carnival is going to begin in just a month’s time and the location is a place where the game of Cricket is like a religion and that is, India. The 6th edition of ICC World T20 is going to be played in India in the month of March-April and the teams are all set to participate and compete with each other for the ICC title.

The squad for the Pakistan team has been announced for the upcoming tournament and the 15 man squad will try their best to win the title for the 2nd time. They won their first World T20 championship in 2009 by beating Sri Lanka. The squad that has been selected has got few surprising decision with primary being the disclusion of opener Ahmed Shehzad who has played brilliantly in the last couple of years for his side.

They have picked 4 uncapped players as well which is quite surprising too for many Cricket legends. Batsman Babar Azam, K Manzoor; fast bowler R Raees and all-rounder M Nawaz have been included in the team and yet to make their T20I debuts.
Opener Shehzad, Shoaib Maqsood, fast bowler Umar Gul have been left out from the side due to their poor performances in the recent past.
The team was expected to be announced by 8th February but the delay of 2 days came because the selectors were in dilemma about the side’s opening pair.
The same squad is going to participate in the upcoming Asia Cup that will be played in Bangladesh from 24th February.
The strength of Pakistan team lies in their bowling department and for the ICC T20 championship, they have made sure that they have got their best of the lot. Fast bowlers like M Amir, W Riaz, A Ali, M Irfan will be in the team. Although, they have not included any specialist spinner in the side but they have got handy experience in form of Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik and Imad Wasim.

Pakistan have got a brilliant record in the World T20 stage and reached to Finals in 2007 World T20, then went on to win the 2nd edition and were there in the Semi-Finals in 2010.
The team looks fresh and strong on the paper and would be roaring to go into the Asia Cup and World T20. However, they have not got the clearance yet on whether they will participate in the tournament or not as they permission has not been granted by Pakistan Government as of now. But PCB has hoped that they will be permitted very soon by their government.
