After earning huge on the first day, it has joined the top 10 opening day grosser of 2016 club.

Directed by Ajay Devgan, this movie is the debut for three new artist Erika Kaar, Sayyeshaa Saigal, and Abigail Eames. The audience has eagerly waited for this movie. On Friday, it has collected more from the single screens than the multiplexes mainly due the screen count for single theatres is more.

The thriller flick has the nett earning of Rs. 10.24 Cr at the domestic box office on Friday which made it to become 10th biggest opener of the year. This year, only two productions are able to cross Rs. 20 Cr on the opening day, Salman Khan’s Sultan and Sushant’s MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.

The tweet of trade analyst, Taran Adarsh reads the movie is strong at single screens and mass circuits, “#Shivaay is STRONG at single screens/mass circuits… Fri ₹ 10.24 cr. India biz… Note: Dhanteras. Pre-Diwali.”

The movie has shattered the first-day collection of Hrithik Roshan starrer Mahenjo Daro with the business of Rs. 10.24 Cr in the domestic market. The opening day collection for Hrithik’s movie was Rs. 8.87 Cr in India.

It has also beaten the opening day records of Ajay Devgan’s last release Drishyam which had a business of Rs. 5.8 Cr. The Akshay Kumar’s Rustom had given tough competition to Mohenjo Daro. This time Shivaay has released in parallel to Ranbir Kapoor’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
