UPI-Based payments service, Truecaller Pay is launched for iPhone Users in India

TrueCaller, an application used primarily for identifying unsaved contact numbers broadened its genre by announcing Truecaller Pay. They unlocked another achievement by introducing all their features like money transfer, recharges, utility bill payments etc for Indian iPhone users. The updated version 9.12 can be downloaded from the App Store. Truecaller claims that it has partnered with over 80 billers already, and has integrated with India’s BHIM-UPI to manage multiple bank accounts.

The feature was released last year to Android users and needless to say people loved it for the app’s ability to perform multiple functions seamlessly at a time.

The standard UPI procedure is followed. You can send and receive money with just a few clicks. Truecaller collaborated with ICIC Bank to provide them with a secure transaction gateway. As you sign up, you will automatically create a Virtual Payment Address (VPA) to be used for all UPI-based transactions. Having an ICICI Bank account is not mandatory to use this VPA. Any bank utilizing UPI-powered transactions can be used to send or receive money or pay bills of any kind just like PayTM.

To use Truecaller Pay, you need to download the latest version of the Truecaller app. Set it up by putting in your name and number for verifying the account. If you’ve already done that, then head over to Truecaller Pay tab or Banking option in Android and follow the instructions one by one till you complete setting up your account. Then you can use it for paying bills, seeing unsaved Contact names and as a messaging app all in one.

Last year, Truecaller added a new ability to make it even more efficient in payment transfer. A new feature called Request Money was added into Truecaller for Android, and it essentially allows a user to send notifications to another user who owes them money, reminding them of their debt.

Previous month has been full of blissful experiences for Truecaller, as they acquired another payments app Chillr, and also introduced Truecaller Pay 2.0. They plan on expanding reach by targeting the user base of Chillr (150 million) in India.
