Wal-Mart Stores In Talks To Settle Lawsuit With Visa Over Processing Fees

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) is in talks with Visa Inc. (V) over settling a lawsuit over processing fees, Bloomberg reported citing a court filing, According to the report, Wal-Mart and Visa lawyers asked to delay sharing information in the lawsuit as the two sides continue to engage in talks on settling Wal-Mart’s $5 billion lawsuit against Visa and a separate lawsuit Visa filed against Wal-Mart. Dozens of retailers are suing credit card companies contending they illegally fixed swipe fees.

Recently WMT was down on light volume of 3.5 million shares. Average daily volume is 8.8 million shares. Meanwhile shares of V were up slightly on light volume of 2.7 million shares. Average daily volume is 8.8 million shares.
