Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra will be the New Ambassadors of “Incredible India”: The Incredible India campaign reports that Aamir Khan will be replaced by Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra as new ambassadors of the campaign which is initiated by the Government of India for the promotion of tourism in India.

After the statement given by the Aamir Khan on intolerance, the decision has been made for the replacement. The official announcement for the same will be made in the next week. Amitabh Bachchan is also the brand ambassador of Gujarat Tourism and Chopra after success in American TV series Quantico have been finalised, a Times of India report said.

The actor after promoting the campaign for 10 years now was replaced. The tourism minister Mahesh Sharma said, “Our contract was with the McCann Worldwide agency for ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ campaign. The agency had hired Aamir for the job. Now the contract with the agency is over. Ministry has not hired Aamir.”

The actor said he and his wife had planning to reside outside the country because of the “insecurity” and “fear” which has been deep drained in the Indian society. This statement of him has been rejected by the minister. Last year, at the Ramnath Goenka awards, the actor was spoken to media that the intolerance in the country was rising and he faced the negative reaction of the same by a large number of people.

The tweet of Amitabh Kant, a senior bureaucrat and key driver of the Incredible India campaign says, “Being a brand ambassador imposes responsibilities. You can’t run down what you’re promoting. That’s damaging the brand.” The bureaucrat is also plays a lead role in Make In India campaign initiated by Government of India.
