The Best Movie Stars To Feature In Games

Movies and gaming have long been intertwined – some of the most popular movies through the 80s and 90s were based on the idea of futuristic technology, nerdy gamers, hackers, and a bad guy.

Once the movie stars stepped off the big screen, there were many who play slots like those at Virgin Games, and even games like World of Warcraft – Henry Cavill and Mila Kunis, to mention just two.

So it makes sense that these two entertainment titans become further linked when big movie stars are written into games!

For movie stars who love gaming, being immortalized in some of the most played games ever is a big deal – and for some, it’s even more exciting than being in a movie!

Death Stranding

A game that is arguably too weird to everyone is Death Stranding. People who took a chance and played feel hard and fast for how quirky it is. The game’s characters are what really make it worth playing.

What’s great is that Mads Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus both bring some much-needed and enjoyable character to the game. It’s not just Mads and Norman who star in this game, though; you’ll also find Margaret Qualley, Lea Seydoux, and plenty more besides.

It’s a bit niche, but if you love any of the actors mentioned, it’s worth checking out.

God of War

God of War is an incredible game and stars Christopher Judge, and while he might not be a huge movie star, gamers and nerds can unite and remember him from Stargate SG-1! However, if you don’t remember that, you’ll likely know him from being one of the henchman in a Batman movie.

There is something special about games that have a heavy dose of mythology and fast-paced action, and that is exactly what God of War offers.

Christoper Judge offered a lot of nuance and personality to the character, even more than those who had come before him in the role of Kratos.

Cyberpunk 2077

Is there anyone more cyberpunk than Keanu Reeves? Probably not. After staring in some of the best films of all time, Matrix and John Wick, just to name two, Keanu has become a worldwide favorite.

While the game itself has had its fair share of bad reviews, it is worth playing just for Keanu – naturally.

He plays the personality-packed Johnny Silverhand, and a fun fact was that he did full motion capture for this role. Silverhand is the punky digital ghost that haunts you as you play. A lot of fun to be had, and one of the most enjoyable games with a huge movie star in it.

Broken Age

The leading man in Broken Age might be best known for his role as Froddo Baggins, but before he was the lovable hobbit, he was also in a few big hits like Maniac, The Faculty, and the cult classic Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Elijah Wood is no stranger to providing vocals for games either since he also voices lead roles in Happy feet and the LOTR games too.

What makes Broken Age cool is that it was a crowdfunded video game created by an indie developer. Over 87,000 raised 3.4 million dollars to get the game made.

Batman: Arkham Series

The Joker in the Batman: Arkham series is eerie, creepy, and so distinct in terms of voice. Although you might know Mark Hammill better for the Star Wars franchise – but millions of viewers fell in love with the voice acting he did for the Joker in the Batman: The Animated Series.

After that, there was only one option – for the Batman: Arkham series, it had to be Mark Hammill.

The vocals were such a hit that he played the Joker across three games, much to the delight of Batman fans and gamers alike.

Rage

Better known for The Big Lebowski, Black Earth Rising, and the voice of the highly lovable Sully in Monsters Inc is John goodman. He’s been a staple of movies and voice acting since the 80s, and Rage sees his vocal skills land – hard.

He voices Dan Hagar and saunters around with a sniper rifle and is the first person you’re going to run into when you play.

Britney Spears Slot

Who doesn’t love Britney? Although Britney is most known for her singing skills, she has appeared in plenty of movies too! Most notably, Crossroads and the Smurfs 2! Movie stars and other celebrities having their own slots isn’t uncommon – she joins KISS, Motorhead, and even Ozzy.

The Britney Slot, like her, is bright, bubbly, and has a progressive jackpot – great fun for slot players.

Until Dawn

If you binged Mr. Robot and could not get enough of Rami Malek, grab a copy or download Until Dawn. It was released exclusively on the Ps4 and is a horror video game.

While the premise of some teenagers in a cabin in the woods for the weekend – trying to survive, might not be new. Until Dawn offers multiple different outcomes, so each time you play, you can get a different experience.

The name Until Dawn is self-explanatory – you need to survive until daylight. Malek plays Josh, one of the main characters.

For some movie stars, there is nothing better than the idea of being immortalized in a game. After all, you know you’ve truly made it when you’ve hit tv series, movies and had your likeness or voice used in a game too!
