The first film in the Black Panther franchise hit the cinemas back in 2018. This movie was a hit at the box office and was loved by the MCU fans. It was another addition to the Marvel and we saw so many different aspects in it. We sure loved it and wanted to see what would happen next.
Even before the Avengers: Endgame talks began, it was made clear that BlackPanther was coming back for its Part 2. This movie has got numerous awards and nominations. However, Feige confirmed the official news that the second part is coming back soon. So, let’s get into the details and find out the release date, plot, cast, and all other details.
What will Black Panther 2 be about?
As of now, the plot for the second installment has not been released. It is hard to say what exactly will happen. In the first part, we saw T’challa was crowned as the ruler and protector of Wakanda. He successfully saved Wakanda from M’Baku and Erik Killmonger.
For now, there are just speculations on what could happen next. There were rumors that in the sequel, we may see Wakanda under attack to gain power and control over the city. Namor or Princess Zanda could be the next villain/antagonist. It is still not clear but we are sure whatever may come their way will be insanely good.
After Marvels received the rights to the character, it is possible, we might see Namor (aka Marvel’s version of Aquaman) back. Fiege also mentioned that there are many stories to be told about this character. It is said they want to see how T’Challa will grow as a king in upcoming films. So, expect a character arc there.
Who will be in Black Panther 2? Cast:
We are expecting pretty much everyone from the previous part coming back into the sequel. We may see Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi and Angela Bassett as Ramonda, T’Challa’s mother.
Daniel Kaluuya hasn’t been confirmed yet. Martin Freeman is likely to return as CIA agent Everett Ross. The upcoming film could also feature Micheal B Jordan as an intense and troubled villain Erik Killonger, he died at the end of the first film though. For now, we don’t know how the afterlife works in Wakanda.
Keanu Reeves is likely to play the role of Namor. The Grammy Award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar is likely to be seen in the film’s sequel. We are not sure if there is going to be any addition as of now. However, once there is an announcement made on the same, we will let you know.
When will Black Panther 2 trailer be released?
As the release date has been set to be in 2022, we are expecting the trailer to be released either in late 2021 or early 2022. It is too early to say when. However, once the shoot begins, we will be seeing some glimpses of the shoot here and there. You can check the trailer for the first part down below. You can also stream the first part of this movie on Disney+.
Black Panther 2 villain: Could Killmonger return?
Generally, we shouldn’t root for any bad guy, but Erik ‘Killmonger’ Stevens – the antagonist of the first film was not a typical one. For Marvel, he seemed to have solved the troublesome problem of finding a perfect villain. That’s the reason why he was awarded the Best Villain trophy at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.
Stevens died in the finale, but we never know what could happen in a fictional ‘superhero’ universe. Feige has stated that it’s too early to say something about it. They haven’t gotten that far yet. Also, he hasn’t denied the possibility. However, Jordan has said that he needed therapy after playing the character. Let’s see what happens next.
