Briarpatch is based on Ross Thomas’s novel of the same name. It concluded airing its first season in April 2020 and fans are wondering if there is going to be another season for the show or not. Let’s get into the details and find out everything we know so far.

Released in February 2020, Briarpatch revolved around Allegra Hill who decides to investigate the mystery behind her sister Detective Felicity Dill’s death. The show received a good response from the critics. However, it didn’t do very well with the fans. While some liked it, others who were not sure.

Is there Briarpatch season 2?

So far, USA Network has made no announcements regarding the renewal or cancellation of the show. At the same time, the show suffered from mixed responses. The show had around 0.49 million people tuning into the show per episode. It averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic

When the first episode aired 528,000 viewers viewed it, and the rating was 0.9 in the 18-49 demography. But when the second episode aired, the rating dropped even lower. The network tried to save the show by changing the time slot to Monday’s at 11 pm. However, this also didn’t prove to be any good for them.

With this, the chances of the show coming back are quite slim. When it comes to anthology series, it isn’t easy to predict. While some go on for a long time like Black Mirror and American Horror Story, some get canceled after the first season. Since there has been no announcement of the show yet, we can only hope to see it on screens again.
