True crime story lovers were thrilled when Dirty John was renewed for a second season. While the first installment pretty much concluded the story premise, it was hard to guess if there was another season. Fortunately, pretty soon, it was declared that DirtyJohn was going to be an anthology series.

The second installment released in June 2020 and has concluded a few days back. Fans are eager to know if there is going to be another season. Without wasting any more time, let’s get into the details and find out everything we know so far.

Will there be a Dirty John season 3?

So far, the USA network has not made any comments on the renewal of the show. Usually, the shows get renewed a few weeks after their release. Since the show has neither been renewed nor canceled, there is a possibility that we may get to see season three.

The network has created a momentum amongst the audience, which has allowed them to deliver two seasons successfully. We highly doubt that the show will be canceled now.
However, in the end, it all depends on the viewership rate.

It was noted that the second installment had a lower viewership rate. But it still managed to keep the 0.18 rating, which brought around 750,000 people on average. It was also very well received by the critics and the audience. So, this looks pretty good for the series.

When will Dirty John season 3 release? Premiere Date

As the show has not been renewed yet, it is hard to predict when the show may come out. If we look at the previous seasons, it took around 18 months to complete the process and bring it on screens. If the show gets renewed in a few days or weeks, we may see this series in late 2021.

Although the pandemic may interfere with their production, so there is a possibility that there may be delays too. We will know more as soon as a piece of news arrives.

Who is in Dirty John season 3? Cast

The cast in the first two installments was different. Since it is an anthology series, chances are, we will see an entirely new cast.

Season one starred:

  • Connie Britton as Debra Newell
  • Eric Bana as John Meehan
  • Juno Temple as Veronica Newell
  • Julia Garner as Terra Newell
  • Season two-starred:
  • Amanda Peet as Betty Broderick
  • Christian Slater as Dan Broderick
  • Rachel Keller as Linda Kolkena
  • Lily Donoghue as Tracy Broderick

The cast was praiseworthy and was loved by many for their marvelous acting skills. However, make sure to stay tuned, and we will update you as soon as new information arrives.

Dirty John Season 3 Plot

Since this is an anthology series, we will see a completely new premise. It won’t be linked to the previous installment.

Cunningham mentioned what she would like to do with season three in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She said she would like to move away from the West Coast and the romantic relationships that shaped the first two seasons.
