Dollface is a highly relatable tale of a young woman-Jules Wiley who grows unintentionally distant with her friends after committing herself in a relationship. Five years down the line, she finds herself being dumped by her boyfriend when she’s extremely emotionally invested. This incident caused her to begin her own imagination and reconnect with her old girlfriends whom she left behind.
About the Writer:
The script of the show was basically just a “Staff example” written by Jordan Weiss. It was a resume sample so that she could land the job of a writer’s assistant. Weiss says, she showed the sample to an assistant friend of her who later was promoted to work on I, Tonya alongside Margot Robbie. When the script was showed to Robbie and some other peers, they loved it and quoted it as “it’s a T.V show.” This was how we got our beloved and relatable show on Hulu.

Isn’t it unfortunate? Soon after the news of Season 2 confirmed spread, the world had to go into lockdown to protect themselves. Dollface season 2 was supposed to air in November 2020. With the health and safety of the citizens being the topmost priority, the industry had to be shut. Therefore, neither the shoot began nor did they get appropriate footage for a release. At most, we will have to await the release of the trailer plus the premiere of the season till 2021.
Dollface Season 2 Plot
The first season of Dollface ended on a very interesting note: the girls getting into a heated argument where Madison exposed Colin about cheating on his wife. The girls later steal Ramona’s car to ride back to Los Angeles.
The series surely sounds incomplete. The girls are yet to better their relationship with one another. Moreover, we might see more of Jules and Wes since they got along quite warmly. A good possibility of a future couple is quite high. But at the same time, I hope Jules doesn’t make the same mistakes she made when she got into a relationship with Jeremy that drove her away from her most intimate friends.

At the forefront of our cast, we have the talented Kat Dennings from ‘Two Broke Girls’ playing the main protagonist Jules. Furthermore, we have Shay Mitchell playing as Stella Cole from “Pretty Little Liars”; Brenda Song as Madison Maxwell from “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”; and Esther Povitsky as Izzy from ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’.
On the other side, we have Connor Hines as Jules’ ex, Jeremy, and Beth Grant as the Cat Lady. The rest of the lineup includes Shelley Hennig, Amilla Bella, Malin Akerman, and Goran Vidnjic. Will there be a Dollface season 2 (release date)? Premiere
The answer is a concrete yes! I am just as peppy as you. The series was renewed at the beginning of the year, in January 2020 on Hulu. To be fair, Weiss did suggest that she would love to write more of Dollface because of its popularity and acceptance by the masses. Now we know what she was signaling towards.
It is evident that no matter the gender of the viewer, the show is settled within you once you start watching it. Unquestionably, it’s a binge with just 10 episodes. Honestly? It leaves the audience craving more. (check: Space Jam 2.)
What is Dollface about?
Females, without exception, are an emotional and affectionate species. Whichever relationship they commit to, they indulge themselves fully and hence, sometimes find it tough to balance and switch other relationships constantly. In such an investing process, they grow distant without realizing it.
This is what Jules did, invested herself so much that she no longer had a personal life of her own. Her world limited only till her relationship and when that ended, she became vulnerable and went back to her friends.
The moral of the story is (as the sub-title suggests), to learn and overcome. Jules is learning now with the hard way but every individual should know to know to balance their lives.
