Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy got a very good opening at the box office. It made a collection of Rs 19.40 crores on its 1st day of release, i.e., Thursday. Being released on Valentine’s Day, it enjoyed its launch properly. On 2nd day (Friday), this Bollywood film witnessed a drop in its earnings and minted Rs 13.10 cr. However, it again saw an increase on its 3rd day (Saturday).
As per the reports, Gully Boy is faring very well in the metro cities and it is good in mass circuits or tier-2 cities. As per the expectations, the film’s business should be massive on the extended first weekend, i.e., Saturday and Sunday. As of now, its 2 days total collection stands at Rs 32.50 crores in India.
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy has become the highest opener for Alia Bhatt while the second highest opener for Ranveer Singh after his 2018 release Simmba which collected Rs 20.72 crores on its opening. The movie utilized being released on Valentine Day occasion. Upon its release, it has garnered good reviews and positive word of mouth.
Gully Boy 3rd Day Collection
The flick tells the story of an aspiring rapper Murad played by Ranveer, who goes against all the odds and changes his life for good. It is inspired by the lives of rapper Divine and Naezy. While, Alia plays the role of Ranveer’s hot headed girlfriend who wants to become a surgeon. She also shares her own struggles.
‘Speaking of the 3rd day collection, Gully Boy has witnessed an increase in the occupancy rate as far as the morning shows are concerned. It means that the occupancy will increase as the day progresses. And it will be the highest in the late evening and night shows. The average morning shows occupancy for Saturday was recorded to be around 40%.

It is more than Friday’s figures that were 25-30%, but less than Thursday’s numbers that was around 45%. There is no major release this week. So, Gully Boy has a clear week ahead to earn the maximum without any competition. But, multi-starrer Total Dhamaal is going to release on February 22. The real competition will be known only by then.
