Vivo IPL 2016 Auction Updates – season 9 Auction on 6th February; Eyes on Yuvraj and Domestic Youngsters: The 9th edition of Vevo Indian Premier League (IPL) is less than 3 months away to begin and the preparations for the players auction has began. Recently, Espn Cricinfo has received a long list of 714 players which will be considered for the auction before the IPL 9.
The long list will be trimmed and cut off to a certain number in a pool which will be available for the auctions which have been scheduled in Bangalore on February 6th.
The 9th edition of IPL is scheduled to begin from 9th April 2016 – 29th May 2016. This season will start soon after the ICC World T20 which will be hosted by India itself.
For this season, lots of players set a base price of Rs. 2 crores (approx $2,96,000) which includes the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pietersen, Shane Watson, Ishant Sharma and few others.

Dale Steyn, Mohit Sharma and Jos Buttler have set a base price of Rs. 1.5 crores while the bowling allrounder Irfan Pathan has received a base price of Rs. 1 crore along with NZ star bowler Tim Southee.
This season’s auction is expected to be quite busy for the team bidders as in this edition of the IPL, two new teams have been added after CSK and RR were suspended. The two new teams are Pune, which has been named as Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG) and another team is Rajkot, whose name is yet to be announced. RPSG side has already named their skipped as Indian ODI captain MS Dhoni who is apparently the most successful IPL captain so far.
Delhi Daredevils is also expected to purchase a lot of players from the IPL 9 auctions as they had released a total of 13 players from last season which also includes Yuvraj Singh and Angelo Mathews. Apparently, Yuvraj was the players who was purchased by Delhi at a record price of Rs. 16 crores. However, his performance did not met the expectations, hence the franchise decided to release him.
A total of 61 players were released by the 6 franchises and will participate in the auction with a fresh start in the mind. The new teams, Pune and Rajkot got 5 players each in an earlier auction that was set for these two teams only in which they could choose players from CSK and RR.
For the upcoming auctions on 6th February, Delhi Daredevils consists the highest budget of INR 37.15 crores while Mumbai Indians has the least budget of Rs. 14.4 crores. Both the two new teams has a budget of Rs. 27 crores to invest and purchase players in their first outing in the Indian Premier League.
