Jumanji needs no introduction to the public. It is to believe that the fourth chapter of Jumanji will soon unleash. Well, technically it’s the third movie excluding the original Jumanji that starred Robin Williams as Alan Parrish, released in 1995. This is what we know so far about the newest addition of the sequel.
What happened in the last three Jumanji films?
The first movie revolves around Alan Parrish who stumbles upon the board game ‘Jumanji’ after hearing its signature drumbeats. He later invites Sarah Whittle (played by Bonnie Hunt). Incidents like eerie sounds and unique creatures lead Alan to get trap inside the game while Sarah escapes the mansion.
When the game is resumed twenty-six years later by Judy and Peter who continue to play the game to restore everything after the game ends. They meet Alan and solve the mysteries only to find the game unleashed in reality. However, they succeed in sending the characters and creatures back inside the same and later throw the game into Jumanji into a river but is later found on a beach.
Welcome to the Jungle introduces the story of four Brantford High School students who serve their detention by cleaning the school basement. Martha Kaply, Bethany Walker, Spencer Gilpin, and Anthony ‘Fridge’ Johnson then found the video game ‘Jumanji’ and begin playing after selecting their characters.
This results in them being sucked into the game where they have to save the jungle in their chosen characters of Martha as Ruby Roundhouse; Bethany as Professor Shelly Oberon; Spencer as Dr. Smolder Bravestone; and Fridge as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar.
After finally understanding the game and its rules by Nigel Billingsley (a non-player character), they begin their journey to save Jumanji by lifting off the curse. The players free the jungle from and curse and come back to their normal life.
The experience and hardships in the game make them actual friends in life. It is witnessed in the end that Fridge crushed the game to prevent anybody else from playing the game.
The Next Level was a full-fledged sequel to the 2017 release- Welcome to the Jungle. Spencer, Fridge, Martha, and Bethany lead different lives three years later but soon plan a reunion in Brantford, New Hampshire. Since Spencer has a comparatively dull life, he decides to return to Jumanji because he served a purpose there.
When the group visits his house to find his grandfather (Eddie) and his former friend and business partner, Milo without any trace of Spencer, they realize he is stuck in Jumanji. The game starts to malfunction and sucks in everybody including Milo and Eddie.
Nigel then comes into a picture and introduce about Jumanji’s drought and how they can recover it. The movie ends with the recovering of the drought; Milo announces to stay back in Jumanji, and Eddie convincing the owner of his old diner to hire him as a manager. (check: Euphoria season 2.)
What will happen in Jumanji 4? Plot
Jumanji: The Next Level ended with hinting a reference to the original 1995 film. The mid-credits ending showed the kids grabbing a bite when they hear the drumming that was used in the game after which they see a pack of ostriches pass through the diner.
The possibilities are: this could either only be a reference to 1995 original and suggest an end by portraying the game as a Vicious Circle that never concludes. At the same time, the next movie could partially pick up the idea of Jumanji merging with the real world. This will be quite fascinating to watch since only a raw idea will be adapted but the rest of the tale will be completely unimaginable.
Moreover, there is no brief about the Trailer touchdown as well since the shooting also hasn’t begun. Hopefully, we’ll soon get some good news about it. (check: Netflix’s Another Life Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Episodes: Will There Be Another Netflix Series?.)
Who will be in Jumanji 4 cast?
To assume the least, we expect the core cast of Dwayne Johnson; Karen Gillan; Kevin Hart, and Jack Black to return. We’re also hoping Nick Jonas to appear as the helpful Nigel Billingsley to woo the drooling women.
