Rustom managed to impress people and to jump over the historical movie Mohenjo Daro. The first-day collection of movie sprinted ahead with the collection of Rs 20 crores*. The assumptions are being made that soon movie will cross 100 crores and prove to be a big hit of 2016.

Rustom 2nd Day Collection
There is a throat cutting competition between the movies as both the movies are of different background and it will be engrossing to know the results.
Though the movie is getting mixed reviews from the critics but the movie is holding strong at the box office in terms of figures and getting more than 45% occupancy in single screens which are good. This reaches up to 50-60% in the north-east parts of India due to North India’s favorite superstar Akshay Kumar.
The movie got great responses in Mumbai and Bangalore with occupancy over 35%. However, the pace slows down in the south where Hrithik has bigger pullover. The excellent promotion and marketing of Rustom aided the overall collection when it comes to the initials. It has also proved the biggest opener for Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta.
The movie is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai starring Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz in the budget of approximate Rs 60 crores and the movie managed to cover half of the cost of production from its satellite rights. The movie is crime based and challenges the Indian judicial system.

Rustom is a gripping film, wonderfully directed and told. Superstar Akshay Kumar is marvelous as the high ranking naval officer for whom duty comes first, who murders his wife’s lover.Everything about the movie is class…the recreated 60’s…to the star cast…the supporting cast…to the music…to the art direction…to cinematography…editing…and direction…everything is top form…This is awesome cinema…we should all be proud of…
P.S….I also think that Esha Gupta has done a good job as has everyone else…some pseudo intellectuals are very critical of her with no reason..she has played the rich bitch of the 60’s with elan and panache….
Rustom needs to be a blockbuster for good cinema sake….
