Many people believed the news at first and started writing heartfelt messages to the YouTuber and his family. While some knew the news was fake and took the opportunity to joke about Shane Dawson Death. Shane’s blackface photo resurfaced the internet with hashtag RIP Shane.
The creator had earlier been involved in numerous controversies in the past. Shane posted a blackface video in the past and recently apologized for it in a video titled “Taking Accountability” posted on June 26.
In the video, he said, “I was at least 20 when I started YouTube, and I made the decision to play stereotypes of Black people, or Asian people, or Mexicans, or pretty much every race.”
Further in the video, he added that the work of blackface and joking on race seemed like “comedy” to him in his teenage years. And the response of the younger generation baffled him to produce even more similar content. Dawson said, “No, it was not okay.”
Dawson made headlines this month after an old video showing him indulging in sexual activity while looking at the photo of Willow Smith, daughter of Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith.
The allegations might be the reason, someone decided to start the fake trend of Shane Dawson Dead.

I’m an outspoken criticiser of Shane Dawson but this #RIPSHANE tag is honestly horrible. Dislike Shane as much as you want but you should NEVER joke about or fake someone’s death. Having lost people close to me it makes my blood boil at some of the jokes being made.Advertisement
