The story of the anime is based on trading of goods. And the dialogue delivery of the character regarding bartering, negotiation, trading, and other similar things made it more interesting. While in 2016, the ASCII media work informed the world that further production of the series in under process.
This has given a light of hope to wait for another season of the anime. The story is all about Kraft Lawrence, a merchant desperate to earn more and more just to start a shop of his own. And one night, in his wagon, he sees a wolf-deity, Holo having an age of 600 years old. But appears in the form of a 15-year-old girl having wolf tail and ears.

She requested Lawrence to take her in the world of espionage and at the end towards her home. During the travelling distance, Lawrence gets the fortune of gaining more profit from Holo. This anime is the one which is not easy for the audience to understand.
It takes time to believe in the plotline. Holo and Lawrence are the major characters of the series. This being the main reason that the story is not complex. Some fans came out and said that the producers of the series will be releasing OVA episodes for the testing purposes.
If the response of the episodes came out to favourable then only the work for the upcoming instalment will be started. But in most of the cases of series which are light novel adapted fully rely on the response of novel.
Till today, only two novels are released. The first novel made up of 10 volumes having 4-6 chapters each. While the second one has 9 volumes. Each and every episode of the series is made from one volume of the light novel.
However, the show makers have the material for the season 3 as the third novel is in progress. But in an interview the author, Isuna Hasekura does not show much attention to the production of another instalment.
After knowing this, the fans started filing the petitions to the author for the request of starting all new season. So, it is still not confirmed whether the third season will come not.
