“Sultan” was released on Wednesday, 6th July, the day Eid was set to be celebrated on. Later the celebration was shifted to 7th July. “Sultan” was released in over 4350 screens in India, whereas it was cast on over 1100 screens overseas, thus making a total of 5450 screens worldwide.

This was due to the buzz created by the previous like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bhajrangi Bhaijaan, surfacing the Box office to the full. This year, the owners decided to screen the movie, so to maximize the profits.

With such a large number of screens rolling out Salman, the flick was hyped for a big success. As predicted by the trade experts “Sultan” was expected to mint around Rs 40 to 50 crore at the BO opening day.

But the shift in the Eid celebrations crafted a bit impact on the flick. Still for the fans, it was a must watch on the first day. “Sultan” was able to mint around Rs 36.54 crore* on its first day, as the occupancy was more than 70% on the morning shows, rising much higher in the evening shows.

As for the celebrations of Eid next day, the flick is expected to mint Rs 35 – 40 crore* on its second day of release. As the positive word of mouth spread and the ritual of “Eid with Bhai”, the grossing are expected to witness a surge.

Also, a satellite right for the movie “Sultan” has been pre-sold by Yash Raj Films to Sony Entertainment and is expected to stream on television in a month or two.

Coming to what “Sultan” can reap at the BO, will mainly be focused on the first five days run. During this tenure, trade experts predict the flick to mint more than Rs 150 crore at the Domestic BO.

With Salman Khan’s “Sultan” being the only production being cast at the single screens and multiplexes, Salman Khan has been the top buzz for the current timeframe. This time, it will create many new records and it has already become the highest grosser of the year. This movie might change the meaning of production for Salman Khan.
