November 7, 2015: Brahmos, a joint venture of India’s DRDO (Defence Research And Development Organization) and Russia’s NPOM (NPO Mashinostroyeniya; a rocket design bureau), is a supersonic land attack cruise missile.
On Saturday, November 7 this Missile has been successfully tested by the Indian army at Pokhran at ‘1000 hrs’. it is since 2007 that the Indian army has operationalised land attack versions of Brahmos.
With three inducted regiments of Brahmos in its collection, tested on 8 and 9 of may this year, all the missiles are qualified with BLOCK-III version of it.
As informed by a defense official “at 1000hrs today, the Indian army fired Brahmos land-attack cruise missile successfully against a designated target at Pokhran test range in Rajasthan, demonstrating the weapon’s supreme operational capability”.

The test-fire was proudly carried out by the trained army personnel.

Hearing from the chief of Brahmos Aerospace, Sudhir Mihra, “Brahmos missile system, the most lethal and potent weapon system for precision strike available with Indian Army, has proved again its effectiveness in today’s successful launch”.
The missile launched by Mobile Autonomous Launcher (MAL) has a range of 290 km and a Mach 2.8 speed, against sea and land targets it is potentially capable of being launched from any surface be it land, sea and air. This death machine has the capability to wipe out enemies from any hidden terrains.
Brahmos, as a weapon, can evade any air defence system.
It surely is a proud moment for the developing India.
