Renee Zellweger’s starring What/If has been the most anticipated series for quite some time now. Is it coming back with another season? Let’s find out.

What/If first aired in 2019, became known by many for Renee Zellweger’s brilliant performance. While some criticized the show, it was still loved by many. It has been more than a year now, and we are still waiting for news on what’s next for the show. It left with the potential of another installment.

Will there be What/If season 2?

Usually, Netflix renews a show after 2-3 months of its conclusion. However, as of now, Netflix has not made comments on the show. It remains to be seen if the show will be coming back or not. While in the end, it all comes down to the ratings, it is unclear what will happen.

The streaming giant has remained silent about the viewership count. With the response, it has received there is still potential for it to return. Since the first season took around nine months to complete production, if the show gets renewed now, we may not see it until mid or late 2021. 

What/If Season 2 Plot: What will happen?

Creator of the show Mike Kelley, who was also the genius behind ABC’s Revenge mentioned that he wanted this series to be added in the form of an anthology like Black Mirror and American Horror Story (AHS). He said that he would love to bring all the old characters and put them in a new storyline, playing different roles.

So, if the second season happens, it is hard to guess what the plot is going to look like as it is going to be way different and not connected to the first installment. One thing is for sure that the show is going to bring more twists and a sensational storyline. 

Although when the first installment concluded, Kelley had drawn some possible story ideas that he was going to make. There is a possibility that we may be introduced to new characters, just like a new storyline which will be a season long.

Who is in What/If season 2 cast?

If the installment two happens, we will be seeing Jane Levy seen as Lisa, Blake Jenner as Sean, Keith Powers as Todd, Samantha Marie Ware as Angela, Juan Castano as Marcos, John Clarence Stewart as Lionel, Daniella Pineda as Cassidy, Saamer Usmani as Avery, Derek Smith as Kevin, and Gabriel Mann as Gage.

However, it is not clear what role they will play in the second installment.

Jenner has revealed his interest in playing a dark role, darker than that of Sean. He said if season two happens, it will be interesting to see what is cooking in Kelley’s head this time. The characters which we saw die in the first one may come back in season two. Like Dave Annable seen as Dr Ian Evans, Louis Herthum as Foster, Allie Macdonald saw as Maddie Carter and Julian Sands seen as Liam Strom. It is unclear what role they will play or if they will be back.
