The Atlanta Police capture 7 suspects looting a Nike store in Lenox Square shopping mall on June 15, 2020. The suspects were reportedly stealing $5,000 worth merchandise.

Atlanta PD responded to a possible robbery call at 1:15 A.M., when the store’s alarm went off. After arriving, the police found that two big glass mirrors were broken and approximately 15-20 people were exiting the store carrying Nike’s goods.

“The shelves and racks were empty, but there wasn’t a lot of damage to the interior,” Atalanta Police Captain ‘F. Turner’ said. “We recovered Nike merchandise, a firearm and two vehicles.”

Captain Turner said whoever is caught looting from any stores around the state, will be apprehended by officers at the first take.

Names of Suspects Arrested Looting Nike’s Store

A total of 7 people are arrested, namely: Skylard Johnson, 30; Andnetta Jones, 20; Morenike Okuwobi, 22; Janie Ivory, 22; Victoria Williams, 39; Raeniesha Simpson, 29; and Joseth Jett, 21.

The suspects are charged with a second-degree offense and taken to the nearby Fulton County Jail. If proven guilty, they will face a prison sentence of 1 to 5 years.

The police report stated that charges are still pending, and will be imposed after further investigation into the matter.

Atlanta is currently surrounded by vigorous protests following the death of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks. The father of 4 was killed by an Atlanta police officer at Windy’s parking lot where he was resting after celebrating his daughter’s 8th birthday.

Some selfish people are looting stores and multiplexes in the shed of ongoing protests. Such cases of looting & burglary have been documented earlier.
