The duo Payal Dev & Badshah is back with another hit song ‘Toxic’ featuring Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey. ‘Toxic’ is an attempt at making a heartbreaking song and guess what, they have failed it.
The duo first collaborated in ‘Genda Phool’ featuring Jacqueline Fernandez which proved to a hit nationwide, garnering over 313 Million views in just 2 months. Payal Dev received attention at the national level from different artists in Bollywood Industry.
Badshah unveiled Toxic first look through his Instagram account. And Payal described the song as an ‘all-out heartbreak song’. The teaser was released on 24th May 2020. It featured Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey, big television names in the industry, brawling over their dysfunctional relationship.
The full-length song released on 25th May 2020 at 12:00 PM.
During an interview, Payal mentioned that she and Badshah were working on ‘Toxic’ before the lockdown took place, in fact it was their first-ever collaboration song. While ‘Genda Phool’ project work started much later.
However the shooting of Genda Phool took place much earlier so it got released before ‘Toxic’.
Toxic had to be shot soon as the artists were longing for the release of their song. So Sony Music India decided to shoot the video with iPhone Camera following the COVID-19 protocols.
Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey, famous TV stars and couple, shot the video at their home in Mumbai.
Badshah Toxic Song Video feat Payal Dev | Sargun Mehta & Ravi Dubey
Toxic showcases two scenarios contrast to one another, the initial days of relationship and when it is on the verge of breaking-off. Needless to say, the couple depicted enthralling emotions throughout the entire Toxic Music Video.
The song has been shot well even though it’s a mobile camera and editing is also on par level. Well the video is more about its plot rather the shot quality of use of exotic location. A sad song must propagate emotions first and foremost and Toxic has delivered the expected.
Prior to the release, Payal said ‘Toxic’ is going to be an all-out heartbreak song of the year. The lyrics are written depicting different scenarios taking place amid a happy relationship.
If you have listened to the Badshah Toxic Video, you would notice the transition from Payal Dev’s melodious voice to Badshah’s forced vocals with no depth just takes a totally different route. Badshah has kind of affected the presence and feel of song in a negative way. One thing he has shown perfect is his Rolls Royce and its starlight feature.
The song currently has 202K views in 2 hours. Do not be surprised if this song does not receive the same attention as of Genda Phool.
However, both artists have delivered the song as promised to entertain the fans during this dull COVID-19 situation.
Payal Dev released another song ‘Sayyam Rakh’. You can watch it below.
