Cable Girls speaks about one of the most sensitive topics a woman has to face – Equality. Every woman has their own definition of ‘equality’, this is not because of the differences between their cultures and societies but because of the different lives they live and the kind of experiences that are followed.
Centuries have passed and humans have evolved from their books full of social stigmas. Having said that, earlier days were not so easy for women. For example, the 1920’s Spain where women did not exhibit much power and freedom. This is what Cable Girls deals with within its five seasons.
What is Cable Girls about?
Cable Girls is a Spanish period drama that is produced by Netflix. This was the first Spanish-language show that Netflix invested in. It is originally translated as ‘Las chicas del cable’.
The series is set in the year 1928 in Madrid, where four women get acquainted and become friends after they start working at a modern telecommunications company recently started operating in the city.
The show uncovers the complications of being a working-women where they live under the male-dominated society while trying to find a balance between work, family, and friendship.
At the beginning of the show, we watch Alba (now recognized as Lidia), trying to waver off allegations of murder by robbing a newly operating telecommunications company in exchange for her freedom for a police officer.
Helpless, she changes her identity and gets the job of a cable girl at the same company to execute her plan. Little did she know, she meets three women and shares an instant connection. In the second and third seasons, they explore their friendship while side-by-side resolving the obstacles in their personal and professional lives.
In the fourth season, Lidia finds it difficult to choose a path to walk on and looks for some other way to pay off her debt to the police officer. Meanwhile, one of Lidia’s friend is accused of murder while the others try to save her. The season ends with Angeles’ death and the women going their separate paths.
In the final season (#5), the timeline of the show is between 1936 and 1939, during the Spanish war. The story introduces Sophia, Angeles’ daughter who leaves her home to be a part of the war. When will Cable Girls season 5 part 2 release (date)? Episode 6 Premiere
Well, Cable Girls consists of five seasons in total while fifth being the last installment. Season 5 is said to have ten episodes overall. The first batch of five episodes was already dropped on February 14, 2020, and the next batch of five will arrive on July 3, 2020. These will be the last couple of episodes that will show the ending of all four protagonists.

Well, yes. the trailer of the second part is here and it is thrilling to watch. The three women try to rescue Sophia with their own struggles. They also face the truth that Carmen never died in the first place and has returned now to payback to Lidia and her friends. Who is in the cast of Cable Girls season 5 part 2 (episode 6)?
The four beautiful girls are: Nadia de Santiago (as Maria Inmaculada Suarez), Ana Fernandez (as Carlota Rodriguez de Senillosa), Blanca Suarez (as Lidia Aguilar Davila and formerly know as Alba Roero Mendez) and Maggie Civantos (as Angeles Vidal).
The other cast includes Martino Rivas, Concha Velasco, Angela Cremonte, Ana Polvorosa, Yon Gonzalez, and Antonio Velazquez. Since Angeles has died, she would no longer be seen but Sophia (played by Denisse Pena), Raúl Mérida, Alex Hafner, and Leticia Etala have been added to the list.
The season 5 of Cable Girls is the last installment of the series. So, there won’t be a season 6.
