Who could imagine Medieval period (where Kings ruled and hierarchy followed) to have taken a comic and bare turn? Certainly, thanks to the creative filmmakers and writers we have been witnessing T.V shows and movies where characters break the stereotypes and records together.

Medieval period and ‘sex’ in the same discourse feel a little unsettling however, the playthings that reflect the people of the kingdom make it a little more gullible and pleasant. Crossing Swords is going to be among the few series that intends to bring a little joy in these times where people look for an escape from their miseries.

What is Crossing Swords about? Plot:

Crossing Swords is a stop-motion animated comedy show by John Harvatine IV and Tom Root. Harvatine IV and Root are the writers of the show plus the former will also serve as the director. The characters of the show are LEGO-like shaped people (but not LEGO) in a kingdom where Patrick, “a goodhearted peasant” lands a squire position at the royal castle.

However, he soon learns that his dream job is nothing but his worst nightmare; his realization struck of how the kingdom is being run by some horny monarchs, crooks, and charlatans. He later faces the consequences of being the odd man out of his family when his criminal siblings return to make his life hell.

The show is packed with war, murder, and full-frontal nudity but with dozes of humor.

Hulu’s Crossing Swords Trailer (Teaser)

The teaser clip presents the idea of the show. Evidently, Patrick is desperate to look like a hero who saves his kingdom at the end of the day because he quotes, “How am I supposed to be a knight for these people?”. He is further trying to save a princess with a grand entry and a cliché opening but instead, the princess labeled him as a ‘stalker’.

The series also seem to approach issues like equality and the headstrong nature of the women when the male prisoners start to chant and refer a fellow female prisoner as a ‘witch’ when she asks for equal pay for men and women. On the comic front, writers also divulge into sexual desires and nudity. (check: Fargo season 4.)

Despite the nature and nudity of the show, we’re in for a lot of laughter fits that will get us through the rest of the house arrest. (check: Netflix’s You Season 3 Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Episodes, Plot & All Details To Know.)

Who are the characters and cast of Crossing Swords season 1?

Nicholas Hoult who starred in movies like X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Mad Max: Fury Road will grant his voice to the protagonist- Patrick. On the other hand, the rest of the troupe will include Luke Evans (The Hobbit), Frank Welker (Scooby-Doo), Breckin Meyer (Clueless), Tony Hale (Veep), Hyden Walch (Team Titans GO!), Adam Pally (The Mindy Project), Adam Ray (She- Ra and the Princess of Power), Grey Griffin (The Fairly OddParents) and Jessica DiCicco (The Emperor’s New School).

To conclude, John Harvatine IV and Tom Root never fail their shows just like they manifested Robot Chicken for the running ten seasons. In my opinion, the combination of sex, violence, nudity, medieval ages, and humor voiced by great talents and played by little toys, the show should propagate. Rest, all of us can judge for ourselves when the episodes are finally out.

When is season 1 of Crossing Swords release date on Hulu?

The executive producers of ‘Robot Chicken’ bring us yet another fun-filled comedy series named “Crossing Swords”. The series will launch all of its ten episodes on Hulu on June 12, 2020. The pandemic has been a little difficult to deal with; some people are dealing with depression whereas some are facing financial instability and job losses.

In such crucial times, something like Crossing Swords will definitely prove to be cheerful and worth laughing upon.
