When Netflix came up with You in 2018, it was a treat for thriller lovers. While this show was binge-worthy, fans were startled by the twists that came along the two seasons. After its debut in 2018, around 45 million viewers watched the show. It was not a surprise when it got renewed for season two which came out in 2019 and it was filled with a lot of twists.
Fans wanted to know if there was going to be another installment in store. Well, the good news for its fan came when the You season 3 was given greenlit in January 2020. Now the question of its premiere date, cast, and the plot is still unanswered. So, let’s dig right into the details.
Who will be in You season 3? Cast
Without Joe, there would be no You. At the ending of the second installment, we saw Joe and Love were moving in together. So, it is safe to assume we will be seeing Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg and Victoria Pedretti as Love Quinn.
In addition to them, we may also see Forty Quinn played by James Scully, Will Bettelheim played by Robin Lord Taylor back whose identity was stolen by joe. We may also see Love’s friend back Lucy (Marielle Scott), Sunrise (Melanie Field), and Gabe (Charlie Barnett).
There is a possibility of Jenna Ortega who played the role of Ellie Alves coming back for another installment as her story has left many open ends. There could be more potential in her story.

You season 3 location: Where will it be set?
The second installment was filmed in Los Angeles. Penn Badgley referred it as a big effect on the show. Regarding future seasons, he said that there are endless possibilities. Penn said he had taught about it with executive producer Greg Berlanti, and he said that the show will work anywhere, even in Hawaii.
Badgley added: “Maybe that will happen in the fourth season? I’ll keep my fingers crossed.”

You have been revolving around Joe, a serial killer. In both seasons, we have seen the progress he made throughout. In the first installment, where Joe killed Beck but in season two, he was trying to change things about him. He met Love only to discover later that she was just like him. Love murdered Delilah and Candace.
The show ended with a shocking revelation of Love being pregnant. We also saw her mother at the end of the installment. It certainly has left many open endings as to how much is known to her mother. What will happen when the baby finally comes? Will they change? Or Will the baby end up being like them. It is hard to say.
However, Penn hinted towards more shocking twists in an interview. Officially nothing has been released for You season three. At this point, we have been left with an open ending. We can expect more killing in the future or who knows they will finally change for their baby. Well, only time will tell.
Coming to Love, the lead actor Badgley said she won’t be the same kind as before. When pressed hard to reveal something more, Badgley declined to say anything as they aren’t allowed officially to unveil anything. When will the You season 3 trailer release?
As of now, there are no announcements made for the third season apart from the renewal and release year in 2021. However, looking at the release dates of the first and second seasons. We are guessing that this show will be back in the second half of 2021.

In installments one and two, we saw ten episodes and the runtime was around 41 to 50 minutes. You season 3 has been given a green light for ten episodes and the runtime will mostly be the same for season three as well.
When will You season 3 release (date)? Premiere
It was announced in January 2020 that the show will be coming back. The release has been set for 2021. However, it is not confirmed if there are any changes in the date as nothing has been announced so far.
