Sherlock’s creators Mark Gattis and Steven Moffat came with Dracula, a series which is based in 1897 Transylvania. The series showcased Dracula who was immersed in blood, wisdom, and sex. Even though the show received a mixed response, some of the viewers are eagerly waiting for season two.
However, by the looks of the finale, it seems like there won’t be any more episodes. It is derived from Bram Stoker’s seminal 1897 vampire story. Since the first installment has been concluded, let’s find everything we know so far. Will there be another installment? What will the plot be? Who will be starring?
Who will be in the Dracula season 2 cast?
It goes without saying if season two happens, we will see Claes Bang as Count Dracula. Along with him, we may see Dolly Wells as Sister Agatha. Although, we may not see John Heffernan as Jonathan Harker in the next installment.
If the series comes back, there is a possibility that we may see Mark Gattis making an appearance as the morally bankrupt lawyer, Renfield. It is unclear who else will be seen. There is also a possibility that we may see some new faces. However, we will update you as soon as a piece of news arrives.
What is the plot of Dracula season 2?
In the finale of season one, the main storyline of the show felt complete. We discovered how Count feared death. Before Dr Helsing could succumb to cancer, Dracula fed her poisonous blood which killed them both.
While the end of the first installment was pretty close to Stoker’s story, the creators made changes where it was necessary. Bang mentioned that there is the material that strays and it may give you a new take on Dracula. It hints towards a possibility of them taking on a completely new story and different direction in season two.
While it seemed like it was the end, we were never shown that they died. So if the second installment happens, there is a possibility that either Dracula or both of them would come back. It is also possible that we may see the early stage of Dracula’s life.
Since the writers have used different timelines, there are still five hundred years worth of history to cover. It is also possible that Dracula may reform and live up to Agatha’s values. However, since the ending formed a completion of the story in season one, there is very little that we can assume. We may have to wait until an official announcement is made.
Will there be Dracula season 2? Release/Premiere Date
So far, season two of the show has not been renewed. Moffat is set to begin his work on a new HBO drama The Time Traveller’s Wife and BBC series Inside Man. With such a tight schedule, it is unclear if he will be able to make time for the Netflix series. The first installment took around a year to complete its production.
If the second installment gets renewed, we won’t be seeing it until mid-to-late 2021. Sherlock was known to have lengthy gaps between seasons, it won’t be a surprise if the same happens with Dracula.
