George Floyd’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 9 in Houston after a period of 2 weeks of his death by four Minneapolis police officers. The time has arrived for him to be laid to rest.

The Fountain of Praise Church is the location of the funeral and it will begin at 11 am local timezone. If you want to watch the funeral then it is going to be live-streamed. You can find the information for live streaming below in the article.

Mia K. Wright, the co-pastor of The Fountain of Praise Church told CNN, “The service will be a celebration of Floyd’s life”.

Wright also revealed that the service will be attended by civil rights leaders and multiple speakers.

How George Floyd’s death sparked worldwide protests?

Starting from the United States, George Floyd’s death has made people across the world unite to fight against racism.

The popular leaders like Martin Luther King had done various things for the advancement of everyone. But as time passed, racism hasn’t left society. So, to make sure it doesn’t destroy more lives, people started protesting after George Floyd’s death.

Now, it’s been over 2 weeks, the protests are going on and various conspiracy theories are also flooded on the internet.

Apart from the theories, George Floyd was born in North Carolina and graduated in Houston from the Jack Yates High School.

Well, on the Memorial day, four Minneapolis police officers had the job to arrest him. One of them knelt on his neck while others are supporting the job.

Now, the reason for his death is the most anticipated and debatable question. But as per the viral video showing his assault, he was saying ‘I can’t breathe’.

That means his windpipe was chocking due to some reason. But the autopsy reports are saying something else which may lead to extending the protest for justice.

Now, it is known that George Floyd had some legal charges previously and some people arguing against him.

But still, the citizens are supporting him because what he had done in the past is another thing. Misusing the powers is another thing.

People are protesting as this kind of thing may happen once again, if proper action hasn’t taken against those four officers; Thomas Lane, Derek Chauvin, Tou Thao, and J. Alexander Kueng.

As of now, Derek Chauvin is fired and charged with second-degree murder. Rest 3 ex Minneapolis officer has been charged for aiding and abetting; 1. second-degree murder and 2. second-degree manslaughter.
